their career passions. Position Summary:The Product Design Manager
is an experienced visionary managing the 3D Modeling development of
drawing tools for Production Engineering and provides support to
Sales, Procurement and Fabrication departments. Tools include
SolidWorks 3D Mechanical, 2D/3D Electrical, DriveWorks,
Configurator Studio and Design Automation. Key
Responsibilities:
- Standardizing design criteria, product models and modeling
techniques across the engineering department, leading to
improvement quality.
- Professional experience managing or programming a product
configurator using DriveWorks and SolidWorks, 3D Mechanical, 2D/3D
Electrical and PDM.
- Ability to integrate DriveWorks within the ERP system,
generating production information for the Shop Floor and owning the
Sales interface to quoting standard products.
- Develop, program and support Configure, Price and Quote (CPQ)
solutions using DriveWorks, based on business needs.
- Develop Product Models in Configurator Studio and Design
Automation for SolidWorks.
- Support CPQ to develop and maintain the commercial aspects
(i.e. pricing, proposals, etc.) of an engineer-to-order product
into a configure-to-order product.
- Manages, mentors and inspires the 3D-Modeling Team and when
interacting with others.
- Cultivates and maintains a rewarding culture at AEH.
- Standardizing design criteria, product models and modeling
techniques across the engineering department, leading to
improvement in quality and efficiency.
- Professional experience managing or programming a product
configurator using DriveWorks and SolidWorks, 3D Mechanical, 2D/3D
Electrical and PDM.
- Manage and integrate PDM within the ERP system, generating

- Manage the development of Product Models in Configurator Studio
and Design Automation for SolidWorks.
- Support CPQ to develop and maintain the commercial aspects
(i.e. pricing, proposals, etc.) of an engineer-to-order product
into a configure-to-order product.
- Develops the talent on the engineering team, performance goals,
objectives, develops plans, and provides ongoing constructive
performance feedback.
- Creating technical drawings, templates, calculations and
engineered tables.
- Establishes and reviews department deliverables for
completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Drives department KPI's through the development of tools like
Lean daily management
- Set appropriate deadlines with designers for development.
- Reviews work of engineers and designers, as needed.
- Develops and implements department standards, practices and
conventions.
- Maintain thorough documentation of the design process.
- Keeps up to date with changing codes and design practices.
- Learn, utilize, and implement continuous improvement
methodologies such as Lean, TOC, 6s, APICS, & 80/20
- Responsible for directing or executing corrective actions when
errors occur, performs root cause analysis.
- Follows all ISO quality control procedures, Safety program and
adheres to the Company's Core Values.
- Secure the security of the Company's Intellectual
Property.
- Continual education of the industry and trends.Qualifications:

- Strong professional SolidWorks, PDM and DriveWorks
experience.
- 3D CAD tools preferred, SolidWorks; legacy AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with best practice of business procedures and
workflows regarding interaction between sales, engineering and
execution teams.
- Ability to work with minimal direction.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Communicating with parties in other time zones.
- In depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and
Tolerancing.
- Proficient in statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, steel
design and basic electrical design.
- In-depth understanding AISC, AWS, CMAA, ANSI/ASME, OSHA, MHI
specifications & requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 & SharePoint.Education and
Experience
- University Engineering Degree from an accredited
university.
- 7+ years of crane design experience
- 2+ years managing a TeamWork Environment
- In-office setting.
- Sitting and standing,
- Able to walk shop floor and traverse stairs, and able to lift
up to 30 lbs.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a
full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through
